Water Museum, Bristol & Longshaw Seedbank

Konrad Doran Shorrock

Longshaw Seedbank

The primary focus of this project was to fabricate a building which is integrated into the ecosystem around it. The facility sits within two diverging paths where each have unique experiences. One path leads to a timber and light section of the building which is more public and fast paced. Whereas the other path conveys a heavy and overgrown section of the building. These two parts of the design act as contrasting experiences of the ecosystem; This is created using sustainable materials and an understanding of the Longshaw environment.

Bristol Water Museum

The aim of this project was to create an experience of a connection to water and to the environment. Using the movement of people on the site to define paths between artificial hills. The landscape leads people between the harbour and the Water Museum, which sits on top of the hills. In combination with environmentally friendly materials and sustainability oriented exhibitions; the Water Museum stands as an example of the revitalsion and connection to water and the healing of local ecosystems.
