Nantia is a design researcher and Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, with a background in both architecture and jewellery. Her practice brings together participatory design, craft and interaction design to explore how objects, spaces and technologies can support people through periods of transitions in poetic ways. Working through research-through-design, she works closely with people and communities to create objects and experiences that respond to what matters to people during life transitions - in contexts such as migration, dementia, bereavement and loneliness. Her work includes digital jewellery and interactive objects that help people connect with their bodies, significant others and meaningful places. With over ten years of experience in participatory design and teaching, Nantia brings a cross-disciplinary perspective to architecture, encouraging students to think about design not only as shaping buildings and spaces, but also as shaping relationships, experiences and connections.

Ray Verrall is an educator, researcher, and architectural practitioner. He has taught architecture at undergraduate and postgraduate level for more than a decade, across design studio, professional practice, history and theory, research methods, and dissertation supervision. His teaching interests centre on helping students connect design with the broader conditions through which architecture is produced, including questions of practice, collaboration, resources, construction, and professional responsibility.

His architectural practice interests include reuse and adaptation, self-build, low-tech construction, material experimentation, and alternative approaches to architectural production and procurement. His research focuses on architectural education, professional identity, and changing modes of practice, particularly the ways in which architects understand their role and how those ideas are shaped through education and professional culture. His PhD by Creative Practice examined the 1958 Oxford Conference on Architectural Education and its significance within the development of post-war architectural education in Britain.

I am an Academic Tutor at Sheffield Creative Industries Institute, currently teaching architecture in Year 1 and Year 2 undergraduate modules. I hold a PhD in Architecture from Cardiff University's Welsh School of Architecture (WSA), a five-year integrated degree Master's in Architectural Engineering from the School of Architecture at Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), and I am an Associate Fellow of Advance HE UK. Areas of teaching included architectural design, interior design, architectural history and theory, poetics in architecture, health and wellbeing and spatial practices, and sustainability and the built environment.

My research interests are interdisciplinary. My doctoral study explored intersections of architecture, poetry, and wellbeing, focusing on the Brion Cemetery and experiential qualities of space. I have also worked as a Research Assistant at Cardiff University's Welsh School of Architecture and School of Engineering on research projects focusing on sustainability and community. My methodological expertise aligns with qualitative methods, interdisciplinary research, mixed-methods, and sociotechnical approaches in the built environment.
