Sheffield Hallam University is launching a new, cutting-edge MSc in Net Zero Buildings and Sustainable Technologies in September 2027. The course provides industry links to equip students with the skills and vision to tackle the climate emergency. Using decarbonisation strategies and resilient design practices, students will use data to explore complex construction challenges across contexts. The course develops professional skills, specialisation, and knowledge in decarbonisation. It covers technical and experimental data methods for design, modelling, performance, and fabrication. The course prepares students for a wide range of careers:
- • Environmental design and decarbonisation technology in architecture, architectural technology, engineering and the built environment
- • Consultancy in environmental analysis, energy and carbon assessment, and building performance evaluation – focusing on decarbonisation
- • Software specialism in environmental data and modelling in the built environment
- • Technical retrofitting and digital prefabrication towards net zero
