Bristol Water Museum

This project is exploring the human relationship of water, how we experience it and utilise it. I have refurbished an existing structure to re-establish the historical harbour sheds and play tribute to the site’s history. The design celebrates the experience of water with a portal frame structure inspired by wave superposition and surface water tension, creating the feeling of walking against waves as you move through the space. Whilst playing tribute to cargo ships with the shipping container inspired exhibition pods attached to the original structure. The internal space is where the experience comes alive with experimental circulation that creates an exciting and immersive space and experience.
