Architecture Studio 3A – Seed Bank (Longshaw)

The structure is built into the earth to provide access from both path levels on the site while also blending in with the surroundings. For environmental reasons, the structure incorporates both locally obtained gritstone and lumber. The internal expanding area serves as the building's central atrium while also serving as a directed design approach for circulation. The primary mass of the structure appears to connect the current view through the structure with huge, glass windows on both ends. The internal layout is designed to act as part of the exhibition space within the building with all spaces within the main floor being internally glazed to allow for view of the activities and procedures taking place within.
